Daytona and Volusia Concerts

38 upcoming shows at 6 venues.

Twice a year, Main Street turns into one long stage. Bike Week fills Daytona in March, and Biketoberfest brings riders back in October, with bands working the bars and outdoor stages from one end of the street to the other. Main Street Station alone has run more than 20 bands and tribute acts across two stages during Biketoberfest. If you are in town for the music rather than the motorcycles, book a room early and expect the traffic to move at parade speed.

Know Before You Go

Beachside

The Daytona Beach Bandshell was built by the Works Progress Administration in 1936 and 1937, faced with coquina rock from a quarry nearby. It seats a few thousand under the sky, a few steps from the Atlantic.

Across the way, the Ocean Center opened in 1985 about 400 feet from the ocean. It is a convention center with an arena that holds about 9,300 for concerts, so it can take a tour that wants an indoor room on the beach.

Next door, the Peabody Auditorium opened its current building in October 1949 with the U.S. Navy Band. For about 40 years it was the summer home of the London Symphony Orchestra, which is a fine bit of trivia to bring up at intermission.

The Speedway Weekend

Welcome to Rockville spent nine years at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville before downtown construction pushed it out, and in 2019 its promoter announced the move to Daytona International Speedway. It bills itself as Florida's biggest rock experience, it lands in May, and the festival has signed on to stay at the Speedway into the mid 2030s. Keep an eye on hard rock and metal and festivals.

Inland Volusia

The Athens Theatre in DeLand was designed in 1921 as a vaudeville and silent movie house and fully restored in 2009. It mixes concerts, tribute nights and live theater. DeLand also has the northern end of SunRail, which opened in August 2024, so a trip to Orlando can work by train on days the trains run.

A Word on Weather

The beachfront venues are open to the wind and to summer's afternoon storms, and hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Confirm the night's details on your ticket, and see Jacksonville for more of the northeast coast.
