Caloosa Sound Amphitheater

How it came together

The amphitheater was part of the city's plans for the park for years before it opened, and the work also brought a playground and a renovated restroom building to the west side of Centennial Park. The Luminary Hotel & Co. next door handles events for the City of Fort Myers. The stage sits under a covered structure that looks over the river, with terraced seating in front of it.

What plays here

The amphitheater runs a fall and spring concert season, which keeps most shows out of the worst of the summer heat. Past bills have included The Fixx, Pablo Cruise, Lorrie Morgan, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Clay Walker and Little River Band, plus food festivals and local celebrations. Expect a lot of classic rock, country and tribute nights.

Seating changes from show to show. Some nights mix reserved seats near the stage with general admission farther back, so read your ticket before you decide where to land.

Weather by the water

This is an outdoor show. Summer and early fall afternoons bring storms that usually move through by evening, and the river breeze helps once the sun drops. Bring a light layer for a breezy winter night on the water and check your ticket for the rain plan.

Parking in the River District

The River District has public garages a short walk away, including the City of Palms Garage on Bay Street and the Main Street Garage. Plan to park once and walk a few blocks, and pick up dinner downtown on the way to the river.
