The stadium

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross owns the building, which seats about 65,000 for football. A privately funded renovation that began in 2015 added a canopy over the seating bowl. It keeps sun and rain off most seats, but it is open above the field, so fans with floor tickets for a concert are under open sky.

The Dolphins and the University of Miami play football here, the Miami Open tennis tournament uses the grounds, and since 2022 the Formula One Miami Grand Prix has raced on a temporary circuit around the stadium. It has hosted six Super Bowls, the 2024 Copa America final and matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Stadium shows

Taylor Swift played three nights here on the Eras Tour in October 2024, the first act to play three shows at the stadium on a single tour. Beyonce brought her Renaissance tour in 2023, and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira shared the Super Bowl LIV halftime show in 2020. Big pop and Latin tours are the ones that fill a building this size.

Driving and parking

Most people drive. Florida's Turnpike and I-95 both get you close, and the lots around the stadium hold more than 26,000 cars. Park and ride passes are sold for many big events when the main lots sell out. Buy parking ahead when you can, and expect a long, slow exit after a stadium show, since tens of thousands of people leave at once.

Heat and rain

Summer stadium shows start in daylight heat. Drink water early, dress light, and bring a poncho for the afternoon storms that are routine in South Florida. A stadium night is a long one, so eat before you go in, and look at your ticket for gate times and the bag policy. More big dates around the county live on the Miami page.
