Ask around Palm Beach County and plenty of people will call this place Coral Sky. That was its name when it opened on April 26, 1996, and it went back to that name more than once between sponsors. It may have changed names more often than any other amphitheater in the country.

Seats and lawn
The amphitheater holds about 20,000, with roughly 8,000 seats under cover and room for about 12,000 more on the lawn. The South Florida Fair owns it and Live Nation runs it. Phish played in its first year, the Spice Girls opened the American leg of their Spiceworld tour here in 1998, and Dave Matthews Band has played it more than 30 times. Hurricane Frances even knocked out an Ozzfest date in 2004.
Out on Southern Boulevard
The venue sits on the South Florida Fairgrounds off Southern Boulevard, well west of downtown West Palm Beach, with the gates on Sansburys Way. Concert parking is in the fairground lots, and prices are set by the show. Getting out after a big show takes a while, and plenty of fans who plan to drink take a rideshare both ways to skip the lot traffic.
Lawn tips
Summer shows start in heat and humidity, and the afternoon storm is a regular guest. The covered seats keep you dry, the lawn does not. Bring a poncho, wear shoes you do not mind getting muddy, drink water before you are thirsty, and check your ticket for the night's lawn and bag rules.
