Revolution Live may be the easiest club in South Florida to reach by train. The Brightline Fort Lauderdale station sits on NW 2nd Avenue just across Broward Boulevard, and the walk to the door takes about 10 minutes. Cross Broward, turn onto Nugent Avenue, and you are there. Coming down from West Palm Beach or up from Miami, that turns a club show into a night with no drive home.

Know before you go
How it started
The club's first concert was September 28, 2004, when the Wailers played the outdoor patio right after Hurricane Jeanne had blown through. The show went on anyway, which is about as Florida as an opening night gets. The building had a club history before that. It was the Chili Pepper, and before that it was the Edge.
The room
Revolution Live holds up to 1,300 people across the main floor, a second floor, a VIP mezzanine and outdoor balconies. It is general admission and standing room only, so the best spot belongs to whoever gets there first. The upper levels and balconies give shorter people a fighting chance at a clear view, and they are where you go to breathe on a packed night.
The bar serves 21 and up with ID, and the staff will ask for it from anyone who looks under 35, so keep a valid one in your pocket.
Parking downtown
Private lots surround the building, metered spaces line SW 2nd and SW 3rd Avenues, and public garages sit nearby on SW 2nd Street. Rates move with the night, and the lots closest to the door fill first on a busy weekend. A short rideshare from the Brightline station works too if you would rather not walk.
Tips
The club sits in downtown's arts and entertainment district, so dinner and a drink before doors are a few blocks away. Check your ticket for door times and age limits, since they change by show. Browse indie and alternative and hard rock and metal dates statewide, see the Culture Room for another Fort Lauderdale club stage, and open the Fort Lauderdale page for every show in Broward.
