Cafe Eleven serves breakfast in the morning and blues at night. The kitchen opens early, and on show nights the place stays open late while touring acts play ticketed sets in the listening room. The address gives away the location, on the corner of 11th Street and A1A Beach Boulevard in St. Augustine Beach, about a block from the sand.

Know before you go
The listening room
This is a small, close room, and people come to listen. It has a reputation among Northeast Florida music fans as one of the best small rooms around, and it books a lot of touring blues, roots, folk and songwriter acts with some reggae and comedy mixed in. Popa Chubby and The Original Wailers have both played here, along with Midlake, Glen Phillips, David Wilcox, Peter Mulvey and The Aggrolites. If your taste runs to jazz and blues, check this calendar first.
Seating varies by show. Some nights are general admission and some sell reserved seats, so read your ticket before you go.
Who runs it
Chad Cockayne and Carol-Ann Curley bought the cafe and music business from the Dettra family in November 2012 and took over both the kitchen and the booking. The menu mixes vegetarian and vegan dishes with Southern comfort food, so dinner before the show is easy.
Island driving
Cafe Eleven sits on Anastasia Island, so most people coming from the mainland or from Jacksonville end up on the Bridge of Lions or the SR 312 bridge before rolling south down A1A Beach Boulevard. On a sunny weekend the beach traffic on the island moves slowly, so give yourself extra time for an evening show. Check your ticket for the night's details.
Pair it with The Amp
The much bigger St. Augustine Amphitheatre is a short drive north on A1A, so a weekend on the island can cover both ends of the scale. Find more shows across the area on the Jacksonville and St. Augustine page.
